Celebrate life with good food and good friends

DAY 3 of 28 DAY YOGA CHALLENGE:

It’s Sunday, the day of the week I always savor. I like to slow things way down on Sunday. I put away the “To-Do List” and try to really find the joy in en-joy! For me it’s about simple things. Everything is alright in the world if I can spend time cooking, reading, being in nature and laughing with friends.

Celebrate life with good food and good friends! Sunday brunch with my good friends Tom and Karen Carter.

I think we have to guard against the temptation to always be busy. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be one of those people that runs around shouting “I’m so busy!”. Standing in line, I want to be the person who says: “You go first. I have plenty of time.”

So set your intention. Prioritize joy. Love the life you live.

Namaste,

Suzanne

celebrating the summer solstice

Ah summer solstice, my favorite day of the year! I just adore summer and the long days of sunlight. It reminds me of when I was a kid and the summer seemed to last gloriously forever. Those were languid, graceful days when I had all the time I needed.

The word solstice is derived from the Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still).

I always celebrate summer solstice by being outside as much as possible, reveling in the beauty of the Earth. For me, it’s a time to be joyous and reflect on those things for which I’m most grateful. It’s about movement, discovery and reflection.

I invite you to join me in a belated celebration on Sunday for my “Celebrating the Summer Solstice” workshop at Sun and Moon Yoga Studio from 2 – 4 pm.

In the meantime, enjoy the longest day of the year!

Celebrating the Summer Solstice Workshop Description:

Human life has long been guided by the natural cycle of birth-life-death-renewal. Most traditions mark seasons and honor the turning of the wheel of life in a variety of ways. The summer solstice (from the Latin to cause to stand still) is the longest day of the year from sunrise to sunset, and for many, it is also a spiritual time of full potential and outward expressions of inner truths.

Come for asana, pranayama, freeform movement, journaling, discussion and meditation. Honor the day and join with the flow that is midsummer’s gift of life.

Sunday June 24 – 2:00 to 4:00 pm
