on turning 50

Hello, my yoga friends!

Today, I turn 50 at approximately 7:53 pm EST. How do I feel about turning 50? In one word: grateful. I spent several hours today at the National Arboretum with my sidekick, Olivia. There is nothing like Nature to soothe my soul and calm my mind. I’ve been reflecting on how blessed I am — for the abundance of good friends, a wonderful family and great health. I’m incredibly grateful that yoga is such a big part of my life. I have to pinch myself sometimes when I realize that I get to teach yoga full-time and participate in students’ healing. I have great hope for the next 365 days – hope for myself, my sanga, my community, my world.

In that spirit, I invite you to join me in my upcoming free 21 Day Yoga Challenge starting January 1. If you are signed up for this blog, you are automatically signed up.  Make the most of the New Year by committing to doing at least 10 minutes of yoga and 10 minutes of meditation a day. It’s easy. It’s fun. It’s good for you. You practice at your own pace and at a time that works for you. I’ll give you plenty of suggested practices. You’ll get my yoga videos, audio meditations and reflections – one each day of the challenge.

Feel free to invite your friends to join us. They can sign up for my vlog here.

I wish you peace, joy and love in 2014.

Namaste,

Suzanne

P.S. Thanks to many of you for the birthday wishes!

  2. Happy (belated) birthday, Suzanne! I’m encouraged to see that regular yoga practice keeps a person in such excellent condition…I would have said 40+, never 50!!! Looking forward to the yoga challenge!
