Here’s a tip for healthy living. We all seem to suffer from allergens or congestion at some point. Some of us on a daily basis. A neti pot has long been used in the yoga community as a natural form of therapy for allergies and as a preparation for pranyama – the important breath work of yoga.
Most yoga studios sell neti pots. They are also easy and inexpensive to buy online.
I’d love to hear your experiences. Care to share?
Namaste,
Suzanne
I wrote a couple of posts about tackling neti – on my blog, titled neti-quette, if you want to know more about my experiences. Since I wrote them, a FInnish friend has told me it is a very standard remedy for tackling congestion and allergy in Scandinavia. That seems to be the case in the US too? It’s viewed as *very* hippy/alternative/strange here! I really think it would help me except for I seem to have problems from having broken my nose (a long time ago, without realising I had!). I’m currently waiting for an ENT appointment at hospital to check out what’s up with my sense of smell etc. I’m going to ask the consultant what they think of neti!
Hey, there! Thanks for the feedback. Actually, the neti pot is pretty hippy/alternative/strange here too. 🙂 I’m looking forward to checking out your posts regarding it. – Suzanne
Haha oh well! I guess it’s maybe different in different parts of the States too…
